Well, there was a time when the video gaming industry was basically focused on making video games for the males. Due to which the game usually contained violence and dirty fights. But after some time, the developers also decided to attract the female audience too, and so games like Pacman entered. However these days, the genres are getting more and more explored by the players. Because of which, new female characters also introduced, and some of them turned out a game changer.

1. Samus Aran – Metroid 

Hands down but no one ever thought that the Samus in Metroid could be a girl. So when she removed her helmet, it has blown people’s mind for good.  Samus is also noted as one of the epic and least expected surprise where the main protagonist who is covered in the exoskeleton and the heavy suit could be a woman. The fun fact was, Samus was hunting down the Metroid mission for last three long decades, and there was not even a little bit hint about the gender. Also, the developers don’t even sexualize any characteristics nor the powers.

2. Ellie – The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us is one of the delights for the eyes as the cinematographic and the real looking characters were so real that players often forget they are playing a video game. However what shines more than that was the character of Ellie, a fourteen years girl who is suffering from survival guilt. The whole video game continues on her point of view and from her eyes. The character was so beautiful yet so strong that drive player to play the game without any second doubts.

3. Jill Valentine – Resident Evil 

Resident Evil is one of the most famous series, and Jill Valentine is another renowned character who is known for her strong personality in the game. She made her comebacks and returned for various times. Jill Valentine is basically half French and half Japanese. Also, her character is all about business and as equal to any other characters in the game. The director Shinji Mikami stated that Jill Valentine will get the same dress as other males ops. Also, she is going to be on top and be independent in the series.

4. Lara Croft – Tomb Raider 

There are two versions, the first one was designed in the 90s, and because of her design, it was not that popular. But with Lara Croft 2.0, she is younger, using her wits to solve the issues, exploring and building herself. Lara’s character is not just giving the strong and much better impression of the character, but also it’s making the Tome Raider more rising in upcoming years.

5. Zelda – Legends of Zelda 

Mostly Zelda is known as a princess who is an expert in getting stuck in between situations and need someone to rescue her. However it’s just a cover, Behind that Zelda is powerful enough to get any disguise such as pirate, sheik, and ninja, also she can go undercover. Apart from that, she has unmatchable talent when it comes to archery. The character still not explored as she deserves more than this, but Zelda succeeds to create an iconic character for herself.
