Basics of Space Invaders Gameplay
To get good in classic Space Invaders gameplay, you need to learn the basics first. It is necessary to understand how the game works. Every level or the screen consists of the fixed number of space invaders which comes in three different types. Space invaders move in a wave formation to move towards you, from left to right. Every time they collide at one side, they descend one row. If the space invaders irrespective of how many of them are left reach to the bottom, the game is over.
One level or screen of space invaders total worth of 990 points. But you can score much more than that by hitting the mystery spaceships. Those alien ships constantly throw missiles to your turret as they move. You also need to know the damage caused by these missiles varies depending upon their types. You can lose your game life by just hitting one missile of these. However, there are different damage scales for these missiles when attacked your protective bunkers. You can also survive these missiles attack by shooting your own on the same path destroying the other.
To win this game, you surely need some level of practice and understand the game’s rhythm. Best is to play Space Invaders lot of times to get the gameplay. You don’t get any time limit on the levels so it all depends upon the shots you throw and shots thrown at you. The best strategy to stay longer in the game will be to destroy the front lines of the enemy’s formation so it will take longer to reach the bottom. Also, whenever they descend a row, they will still take longer than earlier if their front lines are destroyed. You have to adapt to this strategy as this can keep you surviving towards the end of the game over all the levels.
Another very important thing you should remember is, you have only one shot at a time while playing. This means when you shoot, the missile has to hit or reach to the other end, and then only you can fire another. So throwing wildly around the enemies won’t work here. You have to be precise with your every shot and make it count. The proper usage of bunkers is also very important as it can save you a lot throughout the level. Also, mind the strong missiles as they can destroy the whole bunker and hit your turret. The best thing to do is shoot in the middle of your bunker to make a hole and hit your enemies from there. You will be still in the attacking mode and, having some level of protection as well.
